Ken's Dive Boat

This is my first boat intended for scuba diving in lake travis and other lakes around central texas.

Specs:

  • Name: The Lara Craft
  • Boat: Sea Eagle SR 12.6 (See www.seaeagle.com)
  • Length: 12'-6"
  • Weight: 160 lbs
  • Engine: 15 h.p. Mercury 2-stroke
  • Top-speed: 25 mph (1 passenger)
  • Max. Load: 1600 lbs
  • Max. Passengers: 4

For dive trips, this boat should be able to carry a maximum of 3 divers (plus gear). This boat includes solid floor boards that provides a flat, stable platform to walk around and enter/exit the water. The ride is rough, this boat will hit waves very hard causing the boat to shoot into the air. It rides like a bucking bronco. Cruising around in this boat is a blast, almost as fun as scuba diving!

Setting up...

STEP 1: Unload Gear

STEP 2: Inflate

STEP 3: Install Motor

15hp Outboard, 75lbs, 6 gal ext. fuel tank

STEP 3: Ready to Launch

To launch, the transom has wheels mounted to them. I can back my boat down the launching platform using my Xterra.

STEP 4: In the water

I know, I know, these wheels look lame, so next time I'm leaving them behind

My flash flood insurance

See more pictures of Lara Craft (without transom wheels installed).
